Teaching Music in Primary Schools

Training Sessions for Whole School Staff

 

Gateshead Schools' Music Service has a team of teachers and musicians with many years of music education experience. These teachers are now available to provide music CPD sessions for all staff during twilight or training day meetings at your school.

 

A menu of themes is listed below. However, if you have any training requirements not included here, please enquiry about bespoke training for your school.

 

Training Sessions for Whole School Staff could include:

 

  1. Early Years Music
  2. Singing and Song Repertoire
  3. Creative ways to teach music composition   
  4. Learn how to play and teach African or Samba drumming 
  5. Using Boomwhackers 
  6. Learn how to play and teach ocarina
  7. Songwritting 
  8. Creative approaches to active listening in music lessons 
  9. A practical exploration of teaching the elements of music 
  10. Introducing notation in a practical and child friendly way 
  11. singing and music games throughout the primary years 
  12. Using Charanga (an online music scheme) to teach music throughout your primary school 
  13. Using ipads and music technology in primary school music lesson
  14. Policy, planning and assessment

 

 

Each one hour training session costs £80.00
