The First Aid at Work Requalification (2 days)

Outline

The following adjustments have been made in response to COVID-19
  • A larger room to allow for appropriate social distancing
  • Delegates will receive a brand new Mini Annie Manikin; to be use by them solely for the duration of the course
  • The manikin is yours to take away afterwards and includes an instructional DVD for future use
  • Delegates will be given a working pack that includes your hand book, paperwork and bandage pack; this pack will have been collated and packed at least 72 hours ahead of your training session
  • Delegates will be required to complete a daily COVID-19 Health Check Declaration (please ensure a personalised email is attached to the delegate account)
  • Hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes will be available in the training room
  • You are required to bring along a packed lunch, refreshments and any other snacks needed during the day (NB the cafe and hot drink machines are currently suspended)
  • The Dryden Centre has made the appropriate adjustments throughout the building and we ask that you please follow all of the guidance in and round the centre during your visit

First aid certificate extensions:
Aa holder of a first aid certificate that expires on or after 16 March 2020 and cannot access requalification training because of corona virus, you will qualify for an extension. Your Tutor will be able to assist you in gaining the extension. You must bring a copy of your previous certificate to you course.

Description

The First Aid at Work Requalification training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate.
The duration of the course is a minimum of 12 contact hours which is held over two days.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends that you requalify within a month of your certificate expiring.
Please note that the requalification course is an intensive course run over 2 days with less practice time and designed for those whose certificate is still in date. If you decide to attend this requalification course you will need to work at the pace of the course.

This qualification is renewable every three years.

Outcomes

You can continue to in your role as with a renewed First Aid at Work qualification.

N.B. To undertake this course you must provide a copy of your existing FAW Certificate as proof of your renewal date.

Non-Attendance and Cancellation Policy: 7 full working days. Failure to notify re non-attendance within these parameters will result in the full cost of the session being charged.

Audience

This is aimed at those staff required to act as a fully qualified first aider in the workplace and have an existing qualification.
