To carry out licensable activities such as the provision of entertainment and the sale of alcohol, you are required to apply to the Council for a Premises Licence or Temporary Event Notice. You are also required to register with the Council to run small society lotteries. Consent may also be required for events arranged by you which involve street trading.
As well as administering and enforcing licensing laws Gateshead Councils’ Licensing Team can provide comprehensive and bespoke advice on licensing issues and guidance on negotiating the application process.
Having comprehensive insurance cover is essential to protect schools in the event of storm, fire or flood damage and against theft, malicious damage and negligence claims from the public or employees.
The Council provides insurance cover and in-house claims management to ensure that schools can avoid the potentially devastating costs of a Major Incident.
